Loose platinum leaf, available in various sizes and thicknesses, is applied using the oil gilding technique, usually on not perfectly flat surfaces. Transfer platinum leaf, available in various sizes and thicknesses, comes ready applied on tissue paper which facilitates and speeds up adherence and application to flat gilding surfaces. Leaves are simply pressed onto the tissue paper without glue of any kind being used. The oil technique is recommended at all times. Platinum leaf, both loose and transfer, is packaged into books of 25 leaves each.
